Dr. Joel Jin
Joel Jin, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the mind-body contributions to chronic pain, headaches, migraines, and other medically unexplained symptoms. Dr. Jin uses evidence-based approaches, including Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) and Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET), to help clients understand the connection between the brain, nervous system, and physical symptoms.
Dr. Jin holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology and brings a background spanning academic medicine, university teaching, and private practice. He has served as a behavioral health psychologist within the University of Washington's Family Medicine department and as a professor training the next generation of clinicians. He co-authored two APA-published books on deliberate practice in psychotherapy. His clinical and research work has appeared in more than 20 peer-reviewed publications on chronic pain and related topics.
Dr. Jin is licensed in Washington State (PSYC.PY.61353978) and holds a PSYPACT Interjurisdictional Practice Certificate (IPC), authorizing him to provide telehealth services to clients in Illinois and other PSYPACT-participating states. He is passionate about helping people who have felt dismissed or unheard by the medical system find a path toward relief for symptoms that don't show up on a scan.
